Remote Cameras are used in a variety of habitats across Alberta and Canada to monitor wildlife populations.

Remote cameras are used to determine large-scale patterns in wildlife distribution and abundance. An animal’s heat and movement are detected by a camera resulting in an image that is stored and downloaded to a computer. Cameras are cost-effective, non-invasive, and can be deployed in a wide variety of environments for months at a time to collect a large amount of near-continuous data.
